You’d think I wouldn’t be surprised anymore when things don’t go our way, yet each time is still a shock. Maybe because that little thing called hope is still alive and well. I still hope that things will go right. I went out to my dr in Arizona a couple weeks ago and endured a couple very painful tests. They should have just been mildly uncomfortable, but my L-shaped cervix just makes things that much more fun for everyone. My poor dr probably has nightmares about getting through my cervix. 😱 Anyway, I apparently now have chronic endometritis, which can happen after miscarriage and giving birth. I didn’t have it last year and I do now, so I have to assume that it was brought on by the miscarriage. It is a “simple” fix of 3 weeks of 2 different antibiotics. Yes, in the grand scheme of things, 3 weeks of antibiotics is simple. But man, those weeks SUCK. I refuse to do this while on vacation, so I will start when we get back. It pushes everything back that much more, but I’m done ruining vacations for this shit. Living my life is still priority #1. It has to be. This infertility crap is bad enough as it is, I can’t let it take over everything. It seems like it does anyway sometimes, but I try really hard not to let it.
As much as I really wanted to transfer again soon, I am grateful that my dr is thorough and insisted on redoing these tests. Any transfer would likely fail without this course of antibiotics. Once that is finished, I will repeat the painful test and hopefully get to move forward with our next embryo transfer shortly after.
Now just a quick rant about Virgin River. Season 3 spoilers ahead, stop reading right now if you haven’t watched it yet! They’re trying to make you believe that Mel just casually dropped by her fertility clinic and had an embryo transfer that day??? And that when she gets pregnant, it’s possible that she wouldn’t know if it was the transfer or sex??? NO, Y’ALL. That is not how any of that works. 🤦♀️ I know it’s just a tv show, but I get so frustrated at stuff like that because it makes people think that it really is that easy!! No. You have to be on meds for weeks before transfer and they suppress your own hormones so you don’t ovulate. The cycle actually gets canceled if you ovulate, I’ve been there. UGH. Stupid tv. But I still love that show.
ANYWAY, I’m done for now. I just needed to vent a little because I’m so damn tired of every fucking thing happening to us. Thanks for listening. ❤️
Much love,
Michelle
